Start with Trust Scores
Every GoNoSolo member has a trust score calculated from verified identity, completed trips, and peer-reviewed feedback. Before joining or accepting anyone on a trip, check their score and read their reviews. Higher scores reflect a proven track record — look for the ID Verified badge for the highest confidence.
Before You Travel
Complete your verification
Verify your email and, ideally, your government ID. Users who have completed verification tend to attract higher-quality matches and are less likely to cancel last-minute.
Read profiles thoroughly
Look beyond the trust score. Read bios, check travel style tags, and read all feedback left by previous trip companions before deciding to connect.
Video call before committing
For multi-day or international trips, arrange a short video call before approving or accepting. Seeing and hearing someone in real time builds far more confidence than text alone.
Share your itinerary
Before departure, share your full trip plan — including accommodation, transport, and dates — with a trusted person at home who is NOT on the trip.
Use in-app messaging
Keep all early communication on the GoNoSolo platform. This creates a record and means our safety team can assist if anything goes wrong. Only move to personal contact once you have a high level of trust.
Research your destination
Check travel advisories (GOV.UK, State Department, etc.) for your destination. Know the local emergency numbers, nearest embassy, and hospital.
During Your Trip
Meet first in a public place
When meeting your travel companion for the first time in person, choose a busy public location — a café, hotel lobby, or airport lounge. Avoid private accommodation as a first meeting point.
Keep emergency contacts updated
Check in with someone back home at regular intervals — morning or evening. Let them know if your plans change.
Trust your instincts
If something feels off, leave. You are never obligated to stay in a situation that makes you uncomfortable, regardless of plans already made. Your safety comes before any social obligation.
Secure your valuables
Use hotel safes for passports, spare cash, and extra bank cards. Keep digital copies of important documents in a secure cloud location accessible to a trusted contact.
Maintain financial independence
Never pool all finances with someone you have only just met. Keep your own funds accessible at all times, including a separate card for emergencies.
Respect boundaries on both sides
A great travel companion respects personal space, sleep schedules, dietary needs, and budget limits. Speak up early about your expectations — it prevents tension later.
Red Flags to Watch For
Be cautious of any user who displays the following behaviours. Report them immediately via the in-app report tool or at safety@gonosolo.com.
Reporting & Support
Report in-app
On any user's profile, tap the "Report" button. Select the category (harassment, fake profile, fraud, safety concern) and describe what happened. Reports are reviewed by our safety team within 24 hours.
Email safety team
For urgent situations, email safety@gonosolo.com. Include your username, the other user's username, and a brief description. We treat all safety reports with strict confidentiality.
Emergency Resources
In an emergency, always contact local authorities first. GoNoSolo is not an emergency service.
